# Horrors...-
Ear fatigue has never been this painful, tiring and energy sapping.
I swear to God, I will NEVER work nonstop on mixes for nine freaking hours again. Point a gun at me and I still won't do it. I refuse. No way. Nada.
It started out with working on a rough mix for Orangecove today~~ Went to ask for permission to use Studio 2 after class (around 1.30pm), and mixed my way through till 5.30pm or so, after which while bouncing out the rough mix, I started setting up the microphones for drums recording.
And then Blind Meets Mute came in at around 6pm, and we recorded the drums for their new song, Waves. The drummer blew me out from the studio, out of SAE completely, with the crashes and hihats. Man. The cymbals were a hell lot louder than I thought it was.
And then, the throbbing in the head struck me. That was when I started to realise that ear fatigue had already hit me. =.=
I didn't hear it, but the band members said there were two drum sounds instead of one. God. That was hell. I had to re-record that whole drums portion before settling the bass, and after that I finally died (with a halo on my head and wings on my back) and had my two blessed co-engineers sit in to help me with the guitars.
By the end of the session at 10pm, I was completely zoned out and zombified. The guitar melody just kept going on in my head like a ping pong delay, with the occasional cymbal sounds and snare thuds...
I owe Aiman and Kevin big time, that's all I can say.

# Lunar New Year-
Happy new year people!! (:Lots of fun things have happened these few days. For one, my recordings are going okay; thank god for nice supervisors and classmates who pop by during the sessions to troubleshoot for me. xD I'm slowly getting used to studio 2 and I really love it in there now. Although there are some occasional hiccups here and there it generally isn't a problem for me to do any recording or mixing anymore... well, not as much as last time, anyway.
Guitars are still proving to be a headache to mix but I'm keeping my ears glued on them now. I'm gonna make sure I get the sounds right by drowning myself in tons of guitar tones. Not to the point of ear fatigue, though, of course.
I also went to the SLAP! Prelaunch with Kevin and heard Blind Meets Mute (one of the bands I'm recording) live~~ They were pretty cool. Kevin said the guitars lacked low ends the moment he heard it, though it took me a few listens to realise that he was right. (T.T)
I have a hell lot more to learn.
After their performance my ears were ringing. It was loud. xD But interesting. It's been a while since I heard anyone live.
Meantime I'm rushing to get a rough mix of Beautiful Eyes out. The guys from Orangecove needs it by Wednesday to submit it for Baybeats. I'm gonna work hard. :x Have already done volume balance, and I already know what I need to do to make the drums and vocals sound awesome, so that's no worries anymore~~
I'm enjoying this mad rush for time and all those clustered recording sessions I'm lining up for myself week after week. Granted, it's tiring and it makes me sleepy and dazed during the day, but I cannot help but look forward to each session in the studio... So much so that I wish new year celebrations would be over soon.
Right now the time is passing very very slowly, and all I can do is listen to Skyscrapers and Beautiful Eyes over and over and over again and come up with new mixing ideas while my mum entertains guests. I really hope I can return to school right now to mix. =x

# My anonymous producer (:-
I have always been bad at mixing electric guitars; to me, they just sound like a chunk of distorted noise in music. I always know that I have totally no clue how to mix them properly, and have no clue what tone sounds nice, but today, after my anonymous producer kindly aided me with the guitar recording, I am officially a self-proclaimed guitar tone noob.Lol.
And because he-who-demanded-not-to-be-named helped me today, I learnt a lot more about guitars. (: On top of that, I got an awesome recording. Thank you so much!!! I owe you for this, and the chicken pie, and the coffee. Heh heh.
There is no reason why I should get a low score for my final project; after all, a good recording should lead to nothing less than an awesome mix. The rest of the mixing shall be my own work, and mine alone. Because it would no longer be my project if anyone else, particularly he-who-demanded-not-to-be-named, help me again. xD
Haha.
I really gotta do more research on guitar recording and mixing. xD

总觉得自己好像长大了不少，有时却觉得自己跟以前一样爱闹闭气，就像个不懂事的小孩子一样。 我在2008年也试过让自己更有自信，让自己出去学跟别人相处，不过怎么做也做不到。所以今年也会继续努力吧？虽然还是不敢开口与不熟悉的人聊天，不能和别人一样轻易就交到新朋友，也不能像大家一样对自己信心十足，不过我应该会继续地改变自己吧？
嗯，不是应该，是一定啦。怎么就是改不掉说 [应该] 的习惯啊。。。
唉，不管了。总之，那就是我2009年的目标啦。烦死了。。。

So, so, what's everyone's new year's resolution?? xD
I haven't thought of mine... =.=
Lol. Anyway. Just sent a new year sms to everyone. xD ahahha
I actually just got back from a press kit shoot. xD The band I was filming was pretty cool. Kicked the party off with some good songs. Now I can hear some people downstairs karaoke-ing their lungs out in celebration. I hope they don't keep this up for too long.
